Some venues just have a way of making every couple look like they belong there. The Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia is one of those venues. Nestled at the base of Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley and inspired by the sun-drenched villages of Southern Spain, Montelucia is unlike anything else in the Scottsdale area. I have had the privilege of photographing three completely different love stories here and every single time I step onto this property I am reminded of why it is one of my all time favorite places to shoot.
Three couples. Three completely different aesthetics. One venue that delivered for all of them.
Before we get into the love stories, let me tell you about this venue because it deserves its own moment. The Omni Montelucia draws its inspiration from the architecture and culture of Southern Spain, and the attention to detail throughout the property is genuinely stunning. White washed walls, terracotta roofs, hand painted tiles imported from the 1800s, vine covered archways, and lush gardens set against the towering backdrop of Camelback Mountain. The moment you walk onto this property it feels like a destination, even though you never left Arizona.
For photography specifically, Montelucia is a dream. The Alhambra Walkway, a fountain lined path connecting different areas of the resort, is one of the most beautiful portrait locations on the property. The Castillo Lucena features massive Spanish imported doors, vine covered archways, and architectural details that frame a couple perfectly. The Valencia Lawn offers Camelback Mountain rising directly behind the ceremony space, which needs no additional design whatsoever. And the Cortijo Plaza, with its Spanish inspired architecture and warm afternoon light, photographs unlike anything else in Scottsdale. Every corner of this property tells a story and every corner photographs beautifully.

Caroline and Jagger brought color, energy, and pure joy to every corner of Montelucia. Their wedding was bold and vibrant from start to finish. The florals were lush and full of color, the kind of bouquet that commands attention and sets the tone for the entire day. Against the warm terracotta walls and lush greenery of the resort, the color popped in the most stunning way. This was a couple who leaned fully into celebrating and it showed in every single frame.

Where Caroline and Jagger brought bold and vibrant, Nikki and Matt brought soft, classic, and completely timeless. Blush florals, romantic light, and the kind of elegance that never goes out of style. Photographing this wedding at Montelucia was a reminder of how versatile this venue truly is. The same vine covered archway, the same palm trees, the same Camelback Mountain backdrop, and yet it felt like an entirely different world. That is the magic of this place. It shapes itself around the couple rather than the other way around.

Before either wedding there was a proposal. Chase and Thompson’s love story at Montelucia began on the Camelback Presidential Suite lawn, where Chase got down on one knee with Camelback Mountain behind them and a room full of their closest people waiting nearby. Getting to capture the beginning of a love story at a venue I would later return to for full wedding days felt really special. Montelucia has a way of making every moment feel significant, whether it is the very first yes or the wedding day that follows.

If you are planning your wedding, engagement session, or proposal at the Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia or anywhere in the Paradise Valley and Scottsdale area, I would love to be part of your story. Let’s connect!
